Springboard has been working in East Durham since August 2003 and deliver mainstream training and E2E.
We have a recently refurbished unit in Peterlee which has excellent training facilities, an IT suite, independent living unit and a specialist motor vehicle workshop.
Working locally with employers we can provide work experience placements in vocational areas such as childcare, business administration, elderly care, hospital care, graphic design and the motor vehicle trade.
Springboard East Durham work with a variety of partners such as Tyne & Wear Metropolitan Fire Brigade, Mines Rescue Service, the National Trust and the Coalfield Regerneration Trust.

Springboard Hartlepool offers a range of qualifications for 16 to 19 year olds, including apprenticeships in business administration, elderly care, desktop publishing and horticulture. We also have a successful Entry to Employment (e2e) programme offering tasters and skills required to progress into employment or further education or training.
From our Tower Street premises, we offer learners basic and key skills training relevant to their vocational areas, along with the support and guidance needed to meet NVQ requirements. The learners are placed with employers for four days per week, and attend Tower Street on a day release basis.
We are developing our horticulture programme at Stranton Nurseries. There are excellent facilities including glasshouses, potting sheds, pergolas, ponds and a large area for planting. Our partnership with Hartlepool Council allows us to place our learners within their horticulture operations. We hope to develop the lodge site to provide a base from which we can deliver work tasters in bricklaying, joinery, painting and decorating, plastering and other activities.
Based on the Bede Industrial estate in
Jarrow, Springboard South Tyneside offers a variety of opportunities for people to take an active part in the life of the community. We offer NVQ’s in Care, Early Years Care and Education, Administration as well as E2E and Motor Vehicle qualifications.
We work with many employers in South Shields and Jarrow who provide work experience placements, often leading to employment for our learners.
In the near future we will be developing an environmental/horticulture site to provide yet more opportunities for young people in the area to expand their employability and team working skills.
